Plan childrenswear around age range, comfort, movement, grading, trim security, care, and the compliance requirements of the destination market.
Product directions
Every style is developed from its own brief. These are common directions to help frame the first conversation.
Kidswear sizing should be built for defined ages or body measurements rather than scaled down from an adult pattern without review. Head openings, armholes, rises, lengths, ease, and movement need to work for the intended child and garment type.
Comfort and care are important material considerations. Fabric hand feel, seam construction, label placement, shrinkage expectations, and washing instructions should suit the product and the way families will use it.
Drawcords, buttons, snaps, zippers, patches, and other components should be selected for the age group and intended market. Artwork can be printed or embroidered where suitable, but placement and surface feel should be checked on the sample.
The buyer is responsible for identifying applicable childrenswear rules, testing, labeling, and compliance requirements in the sales market. Those requirements should be part of the initial brief rather than added after development.
A base sample alone may not reveal how proportions change across several ages. The size chart and grading rules should be reviewed so neck openings, sleeve lengths, body widths, rises, and garment lengths remain appropriate throughout the range.
Projects start at 50 pieces. Typical production for an approved 50-piece order is 14 days, with larger or multi-age programs scheduled according to quantity and complexity. Shipping is confirmed for the destination country.
