Decisions for your first sample

01

Define what straight means

A straight visual line does not always mean identical knee and hem measurements. Send both widths plus the intended base size so the shape can be reproduced rather than interpreted from a fit name.

02

Choose the waist position

Identify whether the jean sits at the natural waist or lower on the hip. Measure the back rise as well as the front to keep the seat comfortable when the wearer sits.

03

Plan the size range by length

If offering multiple inseams, mark the knee position on each length. Removing all the difference at the hem can move the visual balance of the leg.

What to check on arrival

Try the washed jean with the usual belt and shoes. Walk a few steps, check for leg twist, then compare left and right inseam and hem widths. Approve back pocket balance while worn.

What to include in your quote request

Share the reference jean, front and back rise, knee level, hem, wash shade and size-length matrix. Include any hardware or label that must match a previous run.
