Decisions for your first sample
Think through the pockets in water
Choose which pockets the design needs and how each pocket bag drains. A zipped back pocket, an open side pocket and a decorative flap are different constructions. Mark the actual openings on a drawing.
Approve a wet swatch
For light shells or pale printed areas, look at the material over the chosen liner both wet and dry. Mark the repeat scale and which motif, if any, must stay clear of the centre seam.
What to check on arrival
Test with the drawcord tied at a comfortable tension. Wet the sample, check for trapped water in the pockets and see how the shell and liner sit when moving from water to a seat. Use that result to approve the construction, not a dry flat lay alone.
