Decisions for your first sample
Choose fixed or adjustable straps
Give front and rear attachment points as well as adjustment length. Changing strap length alone can lift the entire neckline instead of correcting underarm coverage.
Follow the chosen fabric
A stretch knit may pull on over the head, while a close woven version may need more ease or an opening. Agree that route before transferring a knit measurement chart to a woven sample.
What to check on arrival
Sit, lean forward and raise the arms in the sample. Check whether the straps slip, the neckline opens or the hem rolls under the outer layer. Inspect the inside strap joins.
