Decisions for your first sample
01
Cut the leg around the pocket
Choose straight, tapered or wide leg and mark the pocket top relative to the waistband. A pocket set low on a tall fit model can sit across the knee on a shorter wearer. Identify the sizes where placement needs reviewing.
02
Flat pocket or bellows?
A flat patch gives a cleaner outline; a pleat or gusset adds depth. Tell us what the pocket needs to hold, how wide its opening must be and whether you want a flap, snap or hidden closure.
03
Confirm the wash with the trims
Specify the intended finished colour, not just a swatch of untreated cloth. Ask to see the selected fasteners and topstitch thread on the washed sample; they may contrast more than expected.
What to check on arrival
Sit, walk and bend the knee with the pockets filled as intended. Check whether the flaps lift, the pocket bags pull or the side seam rotates. Approve inseam and hem opening after the proposed wash.
Send front, back and side references, target rise and inseam, a pocket sketch, fabric preference and quantities. Flag removable straps, special trims or a garment wash for separate review.
