Decisions for your first sample
01
Soft crown or structured front?
An unstructured dad cap follows the head; a supported front keeps a more defined profile. Unlike a mesh-back trucker, this brief specifies fabric panels around the crown. Give front and side views of the shape your brand wants.
02
Check the smallest embroidered letter
Send vector artwork with its actual width in millimetres. A thin stroke that reads clearly on screen can disappear between stitches. Ask for a sewn front-panel sample and check the centre seam for gaps or a step in the lettering.
03
Choose where the strap end goes
For a buckle back, decide whether the free end tucks into the crown or sits outside. Mark any rear embroidery relative to the arch opening; the available height is smaller than it looks on a flattened drawing.
What to check on arrival
Put the cap on at the intended adjustment and look at the logo from eye level. Check that the brim is centred under the design and the inside backing is comfortable. Approve thread colours on the actual fabric rather than against a white background.
Send your preferred panel count, crown profile, closure reference, logo size and thread colours. List units by fabric colour and identify any side or rear embroidery separately.
Your headwear quote.
Specify a cap, bucket hat or beanie, with shape, material and logo references. Include quantities per colour, sizing or closure, and delivery country.
